"Moh!"

You'd think I never buy these kids sweets. $1.64 can bring so much happiness to two little kids, though.
Parker couldn't say, "Mmmm!" intensely enough. He kept repeating himself, nodding, and showing me the donut.
Half cute, half creepy, but he was blowing me powdered sugar kisses the whole time.
Waving after learning a new word. After two donuts I told him he was done and actually tried to eat one myself. Parker stretched out his arms and yelled, "Ma-ma-ma-ma! MOH! MOH!" This was impressive for two reasons: one, he learned a new word ("more"); and two, he called me ma-ma. That's pretty rare; I'm usually Nuh-nuh. (Yes, he got that third donut. They're small.)
Can't forget about the sneaky one. Instead of yelling for more like her brother, this kiddo waited until I went upstairs, climbed on the chair, got the package out of the cupboard, and helped herself to a few more. (And now I remember why I don't buy donuts very often).

Sorry Grandpa...

...this would be why your blinds are all bent! Some little guy loves to look out the window after his naps.
I have a feeling he won't get in trouble for it, either!

GQ

My little man is growing up way too fast.
Future heartbreaker -
- but still Momma's boy. Here he is blowing me kisses. I don't like that at all!
He sure loves Kenzie. Whenever I say, "Let's go get Kenzie!" as preschool's ending, he claps and yells, "Yay!"

My Date with DL

My lovely sister-in-law, Diana Lynn, and I went to the Conference Center in Salt Lake tonight for the Relief Society broadcast. We're very mature individuals. I just wanted to make that clear before you see the pictures. Here's short-stuff holding the camera.
Mocking the typical wedding poses.
Obviously we weren't clear as to whether or not we were doing the kissy face for this pose. I thought we were! We'll have to work on our picture-taking skills in the future. That is, if DL is willing to go on another date with me. I did get a little giggly after my three sodas there at the end...

More Than One Way to Eat a Marshmallow

Tonight Kenzie roasted marshmallows for us. (What season is it? She dressed herself in sandals and her winter coat!)
Here's the first way to eat a marshmallow, modeled by Parker. Stuff the entire thing in your mouth while nodding and trying to say, "Good." Repeat 5 times. (Kenzie, on the other hand, said, "I kind of don't like marshmallows." So she just manned the stick for us.)
Here's the second way to eat marshmallows. (Don't worry Safety Police, he was sitting mostly upright until being goofy for the camera) Happy Friday! We're obviously getting good use out of the fire pit since that's two posts in a row featuring it!

Welcome Fall

This evening it was actually a bit chilly, so that meant three things: 1. Fall is approaching, and we can get good use out of the fire pit
2. This sweater! The ears!
Another picture, since he's cute
Okay, one more. (He was playing peek-a-boo)
Kenzie swinging. Another bonus picture. I really am getting to the third thing.
3. Fudgesicles! Just ask Chris - the colder it gets, the more likely I am to ask if we can go out for ice cream. Happy Fall!

Get Ready for Halloween

Kenzie's Sleeping Beauty costume has arrived! (She was willing to be Cinderella again, but she's worn that dress literally every single day since last Halloween, so it has a large hole in the front now and is frayed.) I figure if she gets half the use out of this dress as she did the Cinderella one, it will be worth the $11.99 I spent.

Petting Zoo

This afternoon we met up with Daddy at Gardner Village to visit the petting zoo.
Parker loved it, and poked every single animal in the nose at least once!
Kenzie was much more apprehensive. I think the goats scared her a bit. This sheep was smaller, so she was willing to touch him.
Parker wasn't afraid at all. He'd eaten a piece of buttered toast on the way there, and I think the animals could smell it, because Parker got sniffed quite a bit.
I liked this huge pig!
Then we walked around and looked at the Halloween displays. There were some funny-looking witches. Kenzie pointed them out excitedly, but if I asked, "Should we go see the witch?" she would immediately answer, "No!" She's clinging onto Daddy pretty tightly in the picture!
Here's Parker blabbing to the goat. It's hard to hear, but if you want to try it I think it's sweet. He sure loves animals!

"He's the Best Cat Ever!"

Parker woke us up this morning at 6:45, yelling at the top of his lungs. (It was a good thing I had made banana bread, because oatmeal would have been too slow for my starving little boy. He needed breakfast right then.) Anyways, Kenzie stumbled out of her room, messy-haired, "Why is it morning?" When she got home from preschool, she had lunch and then willingly laid down on the bed. Kenzie+Blanket=Mandatory visit from the cat, but Kenzie never minds.
"Mom, look! Seiko loves me!"

To Cheer You Up

Maybe it's because I was there, but when I look at these I can hear Parker's giggle. He thinks it's so funny to be allowed onto Mommy and Daddy's bed. (He goes so crazy, though, that it takes all three of us to make sure he doesn't roll off!)
Admit it, looking at that smiling face just brightened your day. You're welcome!

Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country

This morning I got together with my friend Brooke and her kids at Thanksgiving Point. We lucked out and had the place pretty much to ourselves, which was really nice. Kenzie was thrilled to get to see her "best friend Connor."
Feeding the ducks
I forgot my stroller, so Parker and little Millie took turns with this one. Parker loves animals, as you can tell from the happy expression while he watches the ducks.
Kenzie and Connor riding the ponies. "I want a BIG horse!" Kenzie said. Then she took a second glance at the largest pony and said, "Um, I want a SMALL horse!"
Big smiles from Kenzie. She loved riding the pony. "Fun means that's lots of fun!" was the quote I just got when I asked what I should write about.
Parker made a friend!
"Mom, take a picture of me hugging this sheep!"
Little Crackerface strutting about
What am I feeding these kids? (The scale was off by 100 pounds!)

Hop on Pop

I love this handsome face! Parker is our little buddy and is always willing to blow kisses lately. His new saying is, "Oh, no!" which he uses whenever I turn off the TV, something spills, or he can't find Kenzie. He is also tackling the cat more frequently. Little boys are fun!

Monkey Song

During Parker's nap this afternoon, Kenzie said to me, "Mom, can we talk about something?" That was funny in and of itself, but I said, "Sure, what should we talk about?" Her response? She sang me a song she learned today in preschool. It made me laugh, so I asked her to sing it again for a video.

First Day of Preschool

My little girl, all ready to go. She was so nervous this morning that I had a hard time getting her to start getting ready, and she only had one bite of english muffin. "I'm too scared!" she replied to my encouragement to have something in her stomach.
Today is Red Day, so she picked her red teddy bear as her first show-and-tell. We even had some cute red shoes picked out, but of course they didn't fit on Kenzie's feet this morning! Hence the black shoes that don't really match, but Kenzie likes them. It sure felt strange to be taking my first First Day of School picture, since now there will be many more to come!

Cookie Crumbs, Shaving Cream, and Kisses

Yesterday Chris, McKenzie, and Parker were all "shaving" together. Parker was having a great time, and started blowing me kisses. I grabbed my camera to try and get a picture of it.
Every time I said, "Parker, kisses?" he would quickly blow a kiss, but I just couldn't take the picture fast enough!
Argh, so close
He's still puckered, even
Nope, missed it again
Kind of
I think he's taunting me now! Oh, well.
