I Have No Qualms About Switching Teams...

Finally, after several months of job searching, way too much stress, waiting and more waiting, and after three interviews, Chris has been offered a new job!We both went to BYU, the "rival" school, but I'm not the least bit concerned. I already own a red coat. And I don't care much about sports, anyways.
Oh, and a bonus - I pulled this picture off Google Images because it was pretty, and Chris just noticed and pointed out it's the building he'll be supporting. I'm so proud of my computer nerd!

Thriller

Our little girl sure is sweet. Today Chris and I were discussing how big Kenzie's getting, and we made the mistake of mentioning missing her when she grows up and leaves us. Kenzie got very concerned, even to the point of misty eyes, and said she would miss us. I tried to tell her, "It's years away, sweetheart. By then you'll be happy to move out on your own. You can always call me to talk." Kenzie got even sadder, though, and said, "But Mom, I don't know how to push the buttons!" I told her by then she will know how to use the phone, and I wrote down our phone number and had her read the numbers. Eagerly she grabbed the post-it note and asked, "Can I just keep this for when I'm married?" :o)

Allstar Bowling

First, I'd better admit that the title of this post is the name of the bowling alley we went to, not a representation of our performances. In my defense, I hadn't been bowling for at least 9 years. So, losing by only a few points really wasn't too bad for me. (Never mind that I also lost to my 4-year-old daughter. She cheated with bumpers and a ramp.) We went with the Nydeggers, and here's Lacey and Kenzie showing off what Kenzie called the "funky shoes." Kenzie's ball rolled so slowly she had time to dance around and fix her hair before any pins were knocked over.
Parker was so good! He cheered us on, ate pizza, and sat in the chairs and watched.
Another in-action shot. Half the time Kenzie used this ramp, and the other half she just walked up to the line and hucked the ball.
You didn't have to tell Kenzie twice when it was her turn - she was right there hefting a pink ball.
Then we went to McDonald's for some ice cream. Look at my two handsome men! (Just don't look too hard; they're mine.)

Parker's Turn

It seems like I hadn't taken many pictures of Parker lately, so I tried tonight. Then I remembered why he's so hard to photograph - he's just so busy! Here he is waving and saying hi to the camera again. Little scrawny man.
He was obviously ready for bed! This is the famous Arnold stare, by the way. Or, one of them, at least.
Luckily I did manage to get this picture of my sweet little guy. He's the best snuggler! He's started to nod and say, "You," in return when we say, "Love you!" Makes the 4-5 poopy diapers a day worth the work!

When Did She Grow Up?

McKenzie loves to be a princess. She loves to wear lipstick, too. My favorite story as of late: the other day she came to Grandma for some lipstick. "Mommy threw away my red lip gloss," she complained. (It was all gone!) Grandma told her, "Maybe it wasn't looking too good." Kenzie thought and said, "Maybe. But I wouldn't trust anyone who wears pink lipstick!"
Just keep that in mind if you wear pink lipstick.

"This is the Best Lemonade Ever I Had!"

Naturally, mid-January you start thinking of fresh lemonade. McKenzie has wanted to make some for a long time. This afternoon, after we all miraculously took a nap at the same time (hence the messy hair), Kenzie got to work.
Parker supervised. (My camera beeps when it focuses, and now when Parker hears it he waves and says, "Hi!")
I thought she'd lose interest, but she squeezed every single lemon. I manned the blender, since it's loud, but otherwise it was mostly her project.
One proud little girl. She wants to have a lemonade stand, but I told her it's a bit too cold right now. At least we know she's got the product down.

Imagineers

There was a lot of laughter coming from Kenzie's room this morning. "Mom, look! We're at Disneyland on a princess ride!"

Big Girl Bed

Kenzie came home from preschool this morning to a surprise - a 'big girl bed' complete with new princess sheets!
By the time bedtime arrived, she'd piled most of her stuffed animals on with her. It took only two seconds for her to realize she could fit more friends on this bed!
Parker is ready to claim the toddler bed now. I'm not sure Mommy's ready for him to claim it just yet, though. Soon enough.
