Pine Needle Tea
They've been watching a little too much "Man vs. Wild" with host Mr. Vitamin C! Here's my lovely brother-in-law, Wes, trying out the pine needle "tea" they made on their backpacking adventure. I wonder if the scent attracted any pumas...

Happy 28th Birthday to Daddy!
I'm such a nice wife... not only did I load up a box with Twinkies, Apple Beer, cornichons, root beer, Tim's potato chips, and the They Might Be Giants DVD "Here Come the 123s" (ok that was from Kenzie), but I also made an appointment for him to have a 1-hour massage at Massage Envy. Not to mention that I made him ribs for dinner. (Am I talking myself up enough here?) McKenzie was so excited that it was Daddy's birthday that we even put candles on the cake twice and let her sing and blow them out. And she even let Daddy open one of the presents on his own!

Museum of Ancient Life
McKenzie has been begging to see the dinosaur museum for some time now, so we finally went tonight with Grandma Susan and Great-Grandma. Little did we know it was "Two Dollar Tuesday"at Thanksgiving Point so it was insane! Parker slept in his carrier (although I couldn't see over the thing and plowed over some little boy who was walking backwards) and McKenzie was initially wary of the large bones but quickly got over it. Strangely enough I think her favorite thing was a gigantic replica of an ancient shark. (Yet she gets worried about ladybugs on her ceiling!) She even got to dig for dinosaur bones (but she just played in the sand). I hope they both sleep well tonight!

5 Year Anniversary
Saturday was our 5th wedding anniversary, so we followed tradition and went to Mimi's Cafe. (That started when a travel agent tried to convince us to stay at a hotel for our honeymoon that was, "even close to Mimi's Cafe!" We hadn't heard of it, so we thought it was a local landmark! We didn't pick the hotel, and a good thing since when we came home from our honeymoon we noticed a Mimi's Cafe just a few minutes from our apartment!). Anyways, we made it halfway through the meal. Kenzie was very good, even asking very politely, "Mommy, can I play with the sharp knife?" (referring to the steak knife at her spot). Parker slept until I had finished half my sandwich, when he promptly awoke and started screaming. Nothing would pacify him so I stood outside enduring strange looks while Chris packed up the food in boxes... we wound up finishing our meal at home watching the Olympics. Oh, the glamour is sure gone, but at least the food was good!
