The Tree

Wow, this picture. I am tempted to use it as my Christmas card photo this year. It's an accurate depiction of the two goofballs running this household... Anyways, Chris got a deal on the display model at Lowe's, so he brought home the already-assembled pre-lit tree, stood it in the corner, and sat down. If only it was always that easy! Parker gasped and yelled, "CHRISTMAS!" and both kids clamored to help decorate.

Here's Kenzie, mostly finished. She had a good attention span this year, and managed to cluster all the ornaments at her level.

I thought this was too sweet. Parker lost interest in the decorating of the tree, but he did snuggle up to Daddy and play with some of the ornaments. It's starting to feel more Christmas-y in here!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, it finally happened. I forgot to bring my camera to a holiday event. (At least I didn't forget the stuffing or pies. Admittedly that would have been far worse.) I asked Chris to take a few pictures on his iPhone, so here we have it.

We adults are outnumbered in this family - this is one of two kid tables, where Kenzie sat.

And here's Parker hanging out at the mainly adult table. He loves Thanksgiving because it's a meal with some of the only items he'll eat - mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls. This year the exciting addition of "graby" (gravy) gave me hope that someday he won't be so extremely picky. All in all, a great Thanksgiving - we ate and ate, sat around, played games, then ate some more!

Snow!

Well, the much-anticipated "Blizzard of 2010" came and went without much gusto. (We got 13 inches Saturday night, but that was just a snowstorm, whereas the "blizzard" barely brought a few inches). Go figure. The kids were just thrilled to use their new Toy Story and Princess snow boots.

Parker was up to his knees in the yard, which was funny to see. He really tried to keep up with Kenzie as she made tracks around the yard.

Finally, she got to make her snow angel! She has been begging to do that for a long time, but only recently has the snow been good for snow angels. Happy Winter!

Museum of Natural History

Since Chris works next to the Museum of Natural History up at the U, I've been meaning to take the kids there for awhile. I noticed online that there's a promotion, certain names get in for free on certain days. Well, today was "Tiffany" and so after school we headed up there. Apparently there weren't a lot of other Tiffanys wanting to take advantage of the day - there were literally only two other people in the entire museum.

The kids were excited, though, and they had the place to themselves. Here they brushed off the dinosaur bones. I think Parker must have yelled, "Di-saur!" at least 459 times.

Since it was not lit inside this structure, they wouldn't go in. Such cautious kids!

The crown jewel, the DI-SAURS! We visited this area twice and Parker ran around with delight. I'm not the biggest fan of museums, but for free it was a fun time for the kiddos. Kenzie is already asking if we can go again next time we visit Daddy.

"This is Just an Awesome Fall!"

They begged and begged to be able to jump into the leaves as I was raking [yet again!!] this afternoon. I remember asking the same thing as a kid, but the leaves in Oregon were always very wet and gross. I sure don't remember ever getting to jump in the pile.

So, what the heck, go for it!

"This is just an awesome Fall!" Kenzie said. How can you disagree with that?
