Kenzie is a lot like me - we played the game, "See Who Can Go Longer Without Smiling," and of course I was snickering, but Kenzie was hysterical! The kid had tears in her eyes; she was laughing and snorting so hard!
"Mom, do it again! Say 'Don't Smile!'"

Primary Parade
Parker, on the other hand, was content to snack in his stroller and take it all in.

The Wayward Dog Returns
Look who's back! Taz got out of the yard Sunday afternoon, and I posted ads and called every single animal shelter in the surrounding area again and again... finally today Sandy Animal Services said, "We have a dog that was found by the Senior Center and has a thing in his eye?" Yup, that would be Taz.
I don't think the police officers working the animal shelter could have possibly been more intimidating - and it didn't help that Parker was terrified of all the barking dogs. Nevertheless, Taz enjoyed the ride home (licking the windows in the van the whole way), the hot dog bun we brought him, and greeting Seiko with a big wet sniff. He has been running around the yard with Kenzie for the past twenty minutes. (Poor little girl had been telling me, "We need to find Taz! I will use my mag-a-fying glass to look for clues! We can follow his tracks!" all week. She was thrilled to go pick him up and kept dancing around, "We found him!")

Kenzie trying to give him a hug, although she complained, "He stepped on my toes!"

I Spy...
2. The cat (of course)
3. A little girl only wearing underwear (Her clothes were clean, I don't know what the deal was)
4. More toys than you can shake a stick at
5. The computer, with its usual 48 open programs (good job Parker)
6. Mommy's sanity (it must be around here somewhere)

Happy Mother's Day to Me
We were all sick with allergies and/or colds over Mother's Day weekend, so we opted not to attempt dining out until everyone felt better. Tonight we went to the Olive Garden for me, although Kenzie was pretty happy, too. (Ironically I asked her what she wanted to eat and she said, "French fries!")
Parker took two breadsticks on his own! Being on the end in his highchair, the flow of traffic had to stop and admire him. He got several compliments!

I Like the Way She Thinks
Tonight I asked McKenzie, "So what should we do tomorrow? Should we go to the library?" She replied, "Um, no. We can go to the restaurant with the purple grapes!" I had to think for a minute, wondering what restaurant serves grapes. Finally it dawned on me: "You want to go to the Olive Garden, where the SIGN has purple grapes?" I asked. "Yeah! We can go tomorrow!" she exclaimed. (I wonder if she's paying?)
