Preschool Show

I can't believe preschool is already ending for McKenzie. She really has enjoyed it, and can rattle off random facts during lunch that always make me smile.
Last night her preschool had a little performance in the Wheeler Farm Activity Barn. Grandma and Grandpa Arnold came with us to watch, and we were all quite entertained!
Kenzie was pretty excited about her ladybug costume. They sang and danced for a good 45 minutes, and Parker watched almost the entire time (the last few minutes he did decide to check out the duck pond with Grandpa instead, but otherwise he was pointing and saying, "Kehzee!")
My sweet little girl is growing up. (Does that mean I should grow up, too?)

Our Yard

Here we go - the first tour of our home. We'll start with the outside, since it was a nice day today, and the inside is still quite cluttery. Please ignore that the lawn needs to be mowed. A lawnmower is on the list of Things to Acquire. Kenzie decided she needed to be in pictures if I was taking them, so she'll model most of the rest for us. We're going clockwise from the front, so on the left side of the house we have the trailer pad and the shed. Chris is excited about that shed!
Behind the shed we have the sand box. It has already seen good use! The white boards aren't going to work as a cover, since they're a pain to line back up after the kids scatter them. But it's a nice sand box.
The swing set!
Kenzie could swing all day, so this is perfect for her.
Parker has improvised!
Next is the basketball court. I spent a good hour spraying all the weeds along the fence today, so hopefully they'll be gone in future pictures!
The view from our deck.
Another view, this time of the mountains (and the back of the middle school). We can also see the Draper Temple from our front window, which is kind of neat. My favorite view, though, is that from the kitchen windows I can see both the sand box and the swing set. It has come in handy already as I try to put things away in the kitchen. Anyways there you have it! We have a yard!

I'm Back!

Whew, I survived 5 days without the internet, and 4 without a phone! All for a good cause, because we are officially in our house! Here's the view of Spring from our front door. I guess I should take a picture from the other direction so you can see the front of the house, huh? That will have to come another day.
Kenzie's watering can has been busy. Never mind that we have a sprinkler system, since she has fun.
Parker is rapidly becoming a 2-year-old. Here he got the box of Chicken in a Biscuit crackers off the counter, opened the box, removed the clip that kept it closed, and helped himself.
TV buddies. The sellers left an old couch in the basement. It's not much to look at, but for a free couch it isn't too bad. Those are all the pictures I've taken so far, mostly because all the rooms are about 25% finished. Boxes are everywhere!

Sunday Best

Check out our new couch! And my kids, too, of course, in their new Easter outfits.
Aren't they cute?
It looks like Parker is about to bite Kenzie, but he actually was about to give her a kiss. I was very sad that I took the picture just a second too soon!
Just so you'll appreciate these pictures, I have about 20 more of these kinds of shots!
This one was pretty close to being good, if you ignore the lovely view of the cat's rear end. He seems to find a way into most of my pictures.

Happy Pseudo-Birthday

Today Kenzie got to celebrate her birthday at preschool, since it comes during the summer. She was so thrilled to get a sucker, a balloon, a certificate, a big sticker, and of course a crown! She got to bring cookies to share with her class, too.
Then we went to get a haircut, and I always have to take a picture afterwards. A few days ago Kenzie sadly told me, "But if my bangs get too long, I won't be your cutie-pie anymore!" How sad is that? (By the way, it was her idea to grow out her hair in the first place!) I guess it was her "birthday" so she can change her mind all she wants!

Egg Hunt

Sunday we got together with the Arnold/Lambert clan for the annual Egg Hunt. I was excited for Parker's first hunt, since last year he wasn't walking yet.
CJ was pumped. I think?
Kenzie wasted no time!
Parker, on the other hand, took a little while to realize what was going on. Sure, he saw the eggs, but so what?
"Mom, I'm finding so many eggs!"
Parker picked up the pace eventually!
Asking her to stop and smile resulted in this forced look.
Discovering there's candy inside!
Ahh... kissing cousins! Tatum and Parker are sure sweet together.
The little posse: Kenzie, Camille, and Megan. Another eventful holiday!

Our First Project

Kenzie is starting to get excited about her new room, and since her walls are painted with magnetic paint, Kenzie and I spent an afternoon painting little wooden shapes and gluing magnets to the back. Now she'll have plenty of magnets to hang up her princess posters. (And ok, maybe Mommy's a little excited, too.)

Coloring Eggs

My favorite part was that when we were done, Kenzie asked, "What do we do with the eggs now?" I told her we can eat them, but she was pretty disappointed to hear that was all. (Not to worry, the egg hunt came later, just with plastic eggs. It's bad enough finding a plastic egg a whole year later!)
I didn't think Parker was interested, but he did hand the eggs to Kenzie and plunk a few into the dye himself.
We were so close to a cute picture of both kids! Here Kenzie's smiling...
...and here Parker's paying attention. Oh, well. Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny Was Here

The Easter Bunny rang the doorbell just after breakfast, and two little kids were so happy!
Kenzie was very excited for a new Barbie!
Parker really loved his little dinosaurs, but he was equally thrilled to discover a "Bubby" (bunny) made out of "chock-it"
He ate the entire thing in one sitting, too! (It was hollow, but still, that's impressive for a little guy)

Closing!

I really don't know why this is the end result when I say, "Smile!" But anyways, here's my kiddos starting to dismantle the gift basket from our realtor. A closing gift, because we closed on the house today! I wanted to take a picture of Chris and I at the title company, but I have a sinus infection so my eyes are all bloodshot and I'm not lookin' so hot... I've got to hurry and get better so I can pack, though, because we're moving in a little over a week!

Preserving a Shred of Masculinity

He is playing with his Hotwheel car and ramp, after all. :o)
